paterns of use have been very bad making a huge challenge to get where we need to be from here. Suburban sprawl and other sprawl has gobbled not only huge area but
most of the ecologically important spaces that should have been preserved. Public
parks and preserves are much too few, small, discontinuous, and in the wrong places.
Great expence and longterm planning with follow through must occur.
